Q: It has just occurred to me that my cat must be quite elderly. How long can I expect him to live?

Answer: Most cats will live between twelve and fifteen yeas. Naturally enough, it is always the exceptionally long lived cats that one heard about, but these animals, living between twenty and twenty five years or more, are certainly out of the ordinary.

Entire female cast usually continue to come into heat to mate until near the end of their live (e.g. twelve years old), although there are fewer kittens in the little after they reach the age of the eight, and after eleven years’ old may mating are unproductive. Tom cats, however, generally continue to mate successfully and to sire offspring up to fifteen or sixteen years’ old.
