Q: If my cat injures his eye in the fight, could he manage with one?
Answer: An eye may sometimes have to be removed fallowing severe injury. Then, the eyelids would be sewn together so as no to leave a gaping wound. Such one eyed cats manage perfectly well in most circumstances although obviously they are at same disadvantage in hunting or fighting. There will be same loss of vision on the effected side, and a loss of stereoscopic vision (the superimposition of image from both eyes which gives a feeling of depth). Nevertheless, the animal quickly compensates for these deficiencies and essentially behaves as any other cat.
